What a day.  Early this morning I went to see the dentist about my “fake” tooth falling out. Well, didn’t see the guy, but his assistant was really nice and cemented the tooth back in.  Will be seeing him next week about fixing it permanently.  I saw him pass by and he looks pretty young for a guy with his own practice and looks like he is in it by  himself, no partners.

So, I was filling out the standard forms for them, name, age, address, etc, medical history, what are you allergic of, blah blah blah.  Then I come to this one form.  Attendance Policy.  What?  I am  not here for a job, what’s this?  So, I read through this and the dental place is saying that in order to be courteous for the staff and other patients, you must inform the office 48 hours in advance of any changes.  One occurrence will be excused if you make it within the 48 hours window.

After the second time, then you cannot make an appointment, you will be on standby.  So, if you want to see the dentist on Monday, they will take your name, and if they have a space open up, the office will call you to come in.  With this, you will need to “pay” in advance with a credit card to hold your space.

Then the policy continues with, should there be a third occurrence, the office will happily send a copy of your records to your next dentist.  WOW, they are not fooling around.  Of course, there is the caveat of each individual will be reviewed on a case by case basis.  So, should I even get to the second occurrence and can’t make it because I was in a car accident, I would like to believe they would excuse it.  I wonder if they would want a note from the cops or the hospital.

Is this a hard place to be a patient or what?  However, I do wonder if they have a great service time and no one is sitting there for hours and everything runs fairly smoothly.  I then begin to wonder about the turn around time in the chairs.  Hmm…something to time next time I am there.

So, yesterday afternoon, Michelle (my real estate agent for those of you who forgot or have not read my previous entries) put in a bid for me for the town home.  Yes, I chose the town home for a variety of reasons, some of you  have already heard about.  So, this afternoon, the seller came back with a counter offer, then we countered, then they countered, and so here I am sitting in my office at 7pm on a Friday night wondering what I got myself into.

I talked with Cousin Dan, and he said just do it.  It’s a good price.  Michelle says that it is a good offer, and fact that they came down from so high to begin with, it’s  a good deal, but she would have like more on the closing cost.  So, if you believe the ads, the price came down $38k from what the seller was advertising.  They are also giving me the AC, garage door opener, stainless steel 25cu. ft refrigerator, and $2000 in closing cost.  So, why am I hesitating?  You know, why . . .  because it’s me and I am freaking out about making a decision like this.

Why, you ask?  Because it’s me!  Why do you think??? Have you not been reading my blog?  I worry and freak, and I plan and plan and plan and then plan some more.  Right now I think I am only up to the second planning phase.  Okay, but seriously, I think I wonder what if there is something better over the next rise, the next day or even the next week.  Is this the best I can do?  Is this the right choice?  Will I have to rationalize my decision later?

Some say (and I know some of you hate that I can’t name those someone’s-ha ha ha) that it’s a good deal.  Others say that maybe I should wait and hold out.  The pressure.  The seller put an ad this weekend on the place for the lowered price.  Should I jump on it?  Should I commit?  ARGH!!

Breathe, breathe, in and out, in and out…I think the caffeine is getting to me.  It’s my first for a few weeks, thought I needed the extra boost today. {sigh}

So, I am meeting Michelle tomorrow morning and I am signing the papers to at least commit to her.  And then we are going to the place and look at it again.  I should bring my camera and take some pictures…yeah, I think I will do that.  So, if any of you faithful, or not so faithful readers, who will actually check this out tonight or early tomorrow, go ahead and give me some advice.

Do I sign for the deal or try to wait it out and see what else I can shake out of them?

Tick tock tick tock
