So to answer a comment, I tried Uncle Ben’s and Tesco basmati rice. Since I have yet to try the “real” deal all I can compare it to is jasmine rice. For microwaveable, it was pretty good.
So, I ended up staying up and went to Tesco this morning and got some food. I got some Walker’s crisps, prawn cocktail flavored, yuk. Whoever came up with that one should be shot, however, since the crisps are still on the shelves, I guess there is a lot of people who like it. It tastes very vinegary, so if you like that taste, then you can have it. I guess I could not get past that on my sensitive palette.
I also found some prawn crackers in the store, not bad, interestingly enough they are all white, do they come in different colors still? I remember the different colors. All there is now is white.
I will be cooking my roast beast tomorrow and the sweet potato with brown sugar tomorrow. I also got some bok choy here, but they call it pak choi, and it’s smaller, almost like individual portions. Pretty tasty. Got me some fish and shrimp, figured one night I could make some shrimp and linguine in a garlic butter sauce. Anyways, I guess that’s about it for this culinary adventure.
I am currently watchin (sort of) Kurt Russell’s Escape from LA. There’s something bothering me about it, and after about an hour, I figured it out. Kurt Russell’s character sounds like Clint Eastwood. He is doing this low, rough, rumbling voice. It is starting to grate on my nerves. I liked him better in that soldier movie he did where he was trained to be a soldier, and then when the new model came out he was “thrown” away. He did not speak a lot in the movie, but he was more buff. Definitely liked his hair better as a buzz than the should length thing he has as Snake. I looked up Russell’s movie credits and the movie was funny enough called Soldier.
I found out snogging is kissing.
I guess that’s about it, I am going back to work on my project.
I just purchased these little individual containers of brown rice for the microwave. I’m always daunted by rice. I’m rice-impaired when it comes to cooking, and it takes too dang long!
